Ms. Rebecca Lopkin
Ms. Rebecca Lopkin attended New York University and received both her BS and MA in Educational Theater. She has been TABC's Director of Performing Arts for the last eight years and most recently developed the new Video/Media/Broadcasting (V/M/B) elective track. She also teaches the 11th grade filmmaking course, co-teaches the Holocaust Studies course/Bare Witness program, directs the school play, runs our chapter (number 8459) of the International Thespian Society (a theater honor society for high school students), and advises the Film Club. Using her public speaking skills, a course she has also taught at TABC, Ms. Lopkin works with the graduation speakers to prepare them to deliver their addresses at graduation. Outside of TABC, Ms. Lopkin founded and serves as Artistic Director of Envision Theater, an educational theater company based in Teaneck, NJ and has been a professional theater arts educator for over 27 years. Through her company, she creates and teaches original educational theater workshops, after school arts clubs, and directs productions throughout the New York and New Jersey area with students in grades Pre-K through 12th grade along with her staff of dedicated teaching artists. Envision Shakespeare, a popular program created by Ms. Lopkin's company, is a Shakespearean scene competition designed for the Yeshiva high school league. TABC students participate in this program annually. In her free time, Ms. Lopkin loves to travel the world, perform in plays, and take on background actor roles in film and television.
