Mr. Bruce Titen

Mr. Bruce Titen has been an educational and instructional leader for over 25 years in the state of New Jersey and began his career teaching 5th grade. He soon found his passion for teaching math and moved on to teaching middle school math for many years in Verona, NJ. He was asked to teach high school algebra and went on to be very successful teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Pre-Calculus. While teaching high school math in Newark he was promoted to Master Teacher for the district high schools and then to Math Department Chair of Barringer High School. From there he became a Math Supervisor at a middle school in Plainfield, NJ. While working in Plainfield he was recruited by the NJDOE as a Math Specialist with the Regional Achievement Center in Region 9. There he worked with Priority and Focus Schools in Essex and Union Counties where mathematics had been identified as an area of needed improvement. Throughout his career, he has consistently worked to integrate technology in his classroom and trains teachers on using technology in their classrooms to better engage students. Mr. Titen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Education from Brandeis University. He holds a Master of Arts in School Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and completed his K-12 Math, School Psychologist, and School Service Personnel Services certifications at Montclair State University.  Mr. Titen completed the NJEXCEL program for Educational Administration in 2008 and holds certifications in Elementary Education, School Psychology, School Service Personnel, Mathematics K-12, Supervisor, Principal, and School Administrator. When he is not working with students, teachers, or administrators he is spending time with his wife, four daughters, and his dog. They enjoy solving riddles, sudoku, and mysteries together (yes even the dog!) as well as hiking and swimming.
